Whats new with me and the team?

Things aren't going as planned as we started the season 0-3. I haven't played that many minutes just 11 minutes in 3 games. I have always stayed positive and make sure I'm still active on the bench giving my teammates positive energy. I understand the situation and understand that i have to be ready whenever my number is called to play. I feel I'm ready to get minutes but at the time our veteran guards are the ones coach has confidence in right now. Everyday in practice I get reps with the first and second group which allows me to get to know all of the players games. I continue to stay in the gym, putting up shots, working hard in practice because on this level its all about chemistry and rhythm.

Everyone has to know their role and bring that role to the gym everyday or things will not flow properly. My family was able to come out to see me play in Detroit and it was good to see them. It makes playing on the road great because my people are able to travel and see me in personal. One of my best friends Will Bynum plays for the Detroit Pistons so I was able to go over his house and chill with him for the night. We played video games of course as we talked a lot of trash like we do all summer while back in Chicago. We are so competitive and we are so much alike thats why I love hanging with him, we make eachother better no matter what we are doing. Will also made sure my family had a great stay in Detroit because right after the game we got on the bus and headed straight to the airport. So thanks Will for the love you my dude for life!! In Milwaukee as well, my family drove up to see me. It was my son birthday Daniel turned 2 and it was great to see my lil man. He is getting so big and trying to talk I miss him so much and I couldn't stop hugging and kissing him. I was down about the overtime loss but seeing him just lifted my spirits. My family are big big fans of me and support me to the heart, but what I love most about them is they show everyone love, the whole team and that's special, a lot of people don't do that. I was able to spend about 15 minutes with them before the bus was about to leave me behind thats not a good look at all. It was right to the airport so we can catch our flight back to DC. I just knew we would have practice today at 11 am. I didn't get home until 3 30 am and I couldn't sleep at all so i went to bed at 5 am. Then I was right back up at 9 am and off to the gym for a well needed practice. Our coaching staff really got on us after the game due to the lack of execution and chemistry. I thought the effort and energy was there all the whole game until the 4th quarter then things got bad for us. But one thing about this league is there are so many games to be played and we have two big games this weekend back to back. So you have to look at the mistakes try to correct them and go out there and get better the next one because these games are coming up real fast. Practice was good today. The one thing I love about our practices here we play..The coaches just throw the ball up and let you get after each other I love that. I got some reps in with the first unit today and I just focus on changing the tempo of the game by pushing the ball and picking up full court. I keep telling myself to be more aggressive but I think I have to be on the court longer for me to get that flowing. I'm still excited about the season and really feel like we will turn things around. Tomorrow we have a home game against the New York Knicks and then right after we head to Orlando to play the more improved Magic. Should be a great weekend, I'm definitely excited about the two games. We just need a win and then I think we will be off to the races. I'm looking forward to playing if not I will make sure my present is felt at all times because I really love this game and I have the best seat in the house and I definitely take full advantage. I study the game and make sure I pay attention to each possession because each play is big especially in this league. We have some amazing players in the NBA and its great to watch and compete against them on a daily basis. I'm getting better everyday, every game and thats the key to becoming a great player. I know my time will come, I'm patient, I'm positive, and I'm prepared for any situation. We will be fine, we off to a slow start, but I really think it will take that one win and things will get roller for us.

What do I think about the elections?

I really don't talk politics, but history has been made so congrats to Barack O'bama and Chicago stand up. It was a great race and I stayed up all night watching the results. It was amazing what the city of Chicago did for him at Grant Park, that was great to see. It shows you how much love people have for him and his family. My generation has seen a lot of things happen, but I can tell you that no one saw this in the future and its an amazing thing God bless the new President and his family God bless America. I love my country and to live abroad for 8 months really opened my eyes and made me proud to be an American.

Whats new with the music/other projects?

My mixtape is coming out on November 14th which is next friday. I received the copies from Breakthrough CD & DVD manufacturing (free advertisement)2 weeks ago thanks to my close friend Ryan Fox who helped with the process thanks my dude. They came out unbelievable and I'm really excited about the release. I think this project is a huge step up from my first mixtape "Unwritten" which to me was a huge deal because no one knew I did music and some still don't. The reasons for this is because once you are labeled as something I think that's how people view you. I hate that because I love bowling, I love video games, I love poker, I love a lot of things. So if I wanted to do something else I'm a human being and grown man I should be able to pursue other things that I love and have a passion for. But since I'm a ball player people say "O' stick to basketball", "why is he doing music".. The media may blow it out of portion. I got to the point where I was like forget that..let people say what they want to say. When I'm on that court I'm going to give it my all and try to do my best everyday, every night, every game period. When I'm not on the court who am I? I'm me I'm Daniel Dee Brown and thats where I found that artist within me. To those who don't know what "mixtape" means its pretty much a project where you use other artist beats, or unpurchased beats and make a song like a demo. I want to let people hear me, get the word out that I'm doing music seriously and have a love and passion for the booth. To be honest I really make music for me, my friends, and true fans. I'm really to the point where that's all that matters to me because at the end of the day thats who will always show you love and support no matter what you do. Everything I do in my life I try to make sure its positive and its uplifting. My music will always be that and when people hear it they will hear respect, love, passion, accomplishments, goals, dreams, and my life. So I will keep all my friends and fans posted on everything going on with me as far as my music career goes. This has been one of my dreams since I was 9 and I will not let anyone stop me from doing what I love and have a passion for. I also have plans to start my own entertainment company this coming summer and here are the beginning stages.

Recording label: will be the first thing with me as the first artist. Two other artists, one R&B singer
Dance Team: Since I could never dance and I really enjoy this art.
Highlight/Documentary: I will start by putting out my experience in Turkey and journey back to the NBA DVD which I'm excited about because I really have good footage from Turkey and a great story to tell.
I have so many things I want to do and will do because I will work hard to get things done. I'm focused on making a positive effect on my community and communities around the world. I'm just blessed to be in the situation I'm in to make certain things happen. These are dreams and goals from years back now I'm focusing on making things come true. I'm ready, I'm prepared because I have experiences so much and I'm still only 24.

What else been going on?
Just making sure I'm getting my rest, enjoying life by keeping a smile on my face, and making sure I put in that work it takes to be a professional. I'm a big video game player so I'm currently on my second season on my franchise on college football and I think I'm one of the best in the world right now (lol). I just go to the gym, get something to eat, and head back to the crib and try to stay off my feet. Whenever I have a long day I just write a song or two, watch a great movie and call someone who is chasing greatness and has something positive to say. I love smiling and thinking positive it helps with my confidence and helps me stay focus.
